Internal Gear Manufacturing

In Internal Gears, the tooth profile is on the inside of the ring gear. Planetary gears are the gears in which internal gears are most commonly used. The internal gear has two types: spur and helical internal gear. Internal Gears are generally manufactured from Stainless Steel, Cast Iron, Bronze, Aluminum, Delrin and Non-Metallic (Phenolic) materials. Gear materials used in gear manufacturing; case hardening steels are used as noble steel from certified materials. Liquid and gas cementation is applied to gears.

Internal gears are manufactured with an involute profile like cylindrical gears, and the engagement angle is generally 20°. Internal gears can work together with cylindrical spur gears with the same module and engagement angle. The number of teeth of the counter gear must be less than the number of teeth of the internal gear. This condition is not sufficient for rolling; If the ratio of the number of counter gear teeth to the number of internal gear teeth is greater than 2/3, the teeth will not fully come out of the clutch and the mechanism will be locked. In this state, the mechanism cannot be used. Especially if the number of teeth is the same, rolling will not occur, only gripping will occur.
